Wonderland School for Special Children
Wonderland School for Special Children is a small intimate school located on the grounds of Creston College. There are five members of staff, four of whom each teach a small group of children. Our day starts at 07:30 with a chat on the carpet. This is followed by a bible story. We then have a formal writing lesson. We exercise for 15 minutes and then move on to Mathematics. The children eat their lunch at 9:45 and then play until 10:30. We then go on to English and then Theme work or Sports. School ends at 12:00. A bus is available in the afternoon at an extra cost. Children are expected to do homework in the afternoon to consolidate what they have learned. Fridays are firstly test days and then birthday parties or Baking/Cooking.
We cater for all special needs children up to the age of 18.
Our aim is to provide a safe and secure environment for children who cannot cope in the normal educational system. The children are taught to read and write and are able to do basic mathematics so that they can one day cope in society.
Our fees are extremely reasonable, payable yearly or monthly. They include Playball, Swimming, Arts and Crafts and Cooking/Baking.
